Environmental Offences

The problem of street littering, dog fouling, fly tipping and black bags dumped in alley-ways within our environment impairs the image of our area and contributes to antisocial behaviour, causing harm to wildlife, creating flood hazards in waterways, and often endangering children and adults alike.

The Environmental Protection Act 1990, The Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 and Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, has given local authorities the powers to deal with these issues by way of issuing a Fixed Penalty Notice to offenders observed committing Environmental Crimes, as an alternative to prosecution.

Approximately 30% of Councils across the UK have outsourced these services to private companies and have already seen the benefits of utilising such powers which resulted in the improved visual appearance of all ward areas, in addition to reducing controlled waste, street litter, dog fouling and associated antisocial behaviour.

Our Services

The core service we provide will include intelligence led patrolling, covering every ward within the authority using GEO Fence technology.

Our officers are fully equipped with uniforms, EDA, body worn cameras, and mobile phones to carry out their duties and issue "on the spot" Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) to those who have committed an environmental offence. We have real-time access to all FPN evidence (copy of FPN, notebook entry, witness statement, and body worn camera footage). All evidence is transferred over the 4G network once a FPN has been issued.

With our fully bespoke system, our clients have access to their own NES Back Office System which is also used by our internal team. The system allows access to "real time" report management and complaint management.

Our operatives receive a fully bespoke training programme before they commence employment as well as ongoing training throughout their employment with us. All training goes above and beyond the standard required for environmental enforcement and are sensitive to each of our client’s needs.
